SaaS Explainer Video Script Template (With Example)

A good SaaS explainer video script has five parts: the problem, the solution, how it works, the result and the call to action. A 60-second script has about 140 to 150 words.

This example is for a fictional invoicing app called Billflow.

Problem. Every month, your team spends hours creating invoices and chasing late payments.

This script has about 85 words. Add more detail to "how it works" to reach 140 words for a full 60 seconds, or keep it short for a 30 to 40-second video.

Rules for a clear script

• Write for one buyer. Use the words they use.
• Name your product in the first 15 seconds.
• Describe what the user does, not what the technology is.
• One idea per sentence. Short sentences are easier to animate and to hear.
• Use real numbers in the result part if you have them.
• End with one action only.

Common mistakes

• Listing every feature. Pick the 2 or 3 that matter most to the buyer.
• Starting with the company history instead of the problem.
• Writing more words than the length allows. Check with 140 to 150 words per minute.
